SILK CARE
We want to help you keep your Silkinc product as long as possible.
Our products are designed to last so that we buy and waste less. Here are a few tips to help it along its way:
WASHING
Check the label of your Silkinc product – is it machine washable?
YES! In fact, through innovation, most of our products at Silkinc are designed to be machine washable. Use a neutral detergent at 30 degrees.
NO - Either dry clean or hand wash. Soak your product in a bucket or sink of cold or luke warm water for no longer than 5 minutes. Use a neutral detergent or soap and gently scrub with your hands. Do not twist the material. After soaking, rinse with clean water. You can use a fabric conditioner in the final rinse for that extra softness.
Drying
Our drying recommendations apply to all fabrics! It is best to turn your clothes inside out, shake flat before hanging. Avoid direct sunlight.
Ironing
Most of our products at Silkinc are designed to avoid creases. However, if you would like to iron your fabric once fully dry, keep it turned inside out and set the iron to low heat (or the silk setting). Pop in a piece of cloth between the silk and your iron whilst ironing. If you own a steamer, this is the easiest way to sort out minor wrinkles and avoids the ironing too!
Hanging and storing
Your clothes can be folded, hung or even kept of the back of the spare chair! Avoid keeping your clothes in direct sunlight and if storing for a long time and you add a natural moth repellent in a breathable fabric bag, your silk will be sure to thank you.
