The production of Yungtai Silk involves several meticulous steps:
- Silkworm Rearing:
High-quality silk begins with the cultivation of healthy silkworms, primarily fed on mulberry leaves for about a month.
- Cocoon Harvesting:
Silkworm cocoons are carefully harvested once the silkworms have spun their silk.
- Silk Reeling:
The silk fibres are carefully unwound from the cocoons in a process known as reeling.
- Dyeing and Weaving:
The silk threads are dyed using natural or synthetic dyes and then woven into fabric using traditional looms.
